14th ANNUAL LITCHFIELD COUNTY ANTIQUES AND MID-CENTURY SHOW

The Litchfield County Antiques Show is the primary fund-raiser for Greenwoods Counseling Referrals. This year the show will be expanded to include an impressive collection of MidCentury Collectibles, complementing the exhibition of American and European antiques for which the show has become known. This year the show will be held June 24, 25, and 26 in picturesque Kent Connecticut. The show will feature a diversified mix of forty dealers with specialties in period European, Asian and American, art, folk art, artifacts, jewelry antiques through quality mid-century modern furniture and accessories.
The exhibition and sale are presented at the Springs Center at Kent School by the Antiques Council, a non-profit organization that specializes in producing high-quality exhibitions to benefit charitable organizations. As a professional association of dealers in antiques and art, the council mandates, and rigorously enforces, the highest ethical and professional standards. All proceeds from the LCAS ticket sales benefit Greenwoods.

In 2011 the LCAS will be in 14th year. The weekend event begins with a gala preview party for show patrons and is open two days to the general public. Connecticut dealers who have participated in recent years include Jeffrey Tillou of Litchfield, Nathan Liverant and Son of Colchester, Passport Garden Antiques of Salisbury and Thomas Schwenke and Autumn Pond Antiques of Woodbury. Among other presenters are Christopher Rebello Antiques of Bucks County, PA and Melinda & Laszlo Zongor of Bedford, PA, who specialize in rare hand-woven coverlets. Peter Eaton Antiques, Inc., of Newbury, MA, specialists in New England furniture from 1650-1820, have showcased rare high chests and tables at the exhibit. Flags, delftware, impressionist paintings, textiles and books are also on sale.
